Pro tip: The full moon rises over Half Dome, it does not set over Half Dome. You need to go in the evening to see them together. I pretty much knew this, but I’m a morning person! Perhaps I’ll rally tonight for a once-in-a-lifetime view. On the other hand, the drive is an hour each way and I’ve already done that today. The moon was beautiful; Half Dome at pre-dawn was beautiful. I just had to look in two different directions.
(Update: I did not rally that night for a Half Dome + Full Moon combo attempt. Maybe next year…)
